Green Gables Open House

Why is saving Green Gables so Important?  The acquisition and restoration of Green Gables is not just about preserving an old house from the wrecking ball. It is so much more. Green Gables is the 124-year old historic home of the Wells family, one of the generous benefactors who played a key role in the development of early Melbourne. Their vision and their generosity gifted the area with Wells Park and the first auditorium, the first library, establishing the first high school, and many more things in the community, all of which have been enjoyed by several generations. We do not want Green Gables to become a distant memory from the past or an archived post. She is still here, still standing, and is patiently waiting to be refurbished to her former glory. She will be a living history museum and community outreach center. There are millions of people who love history. Together we can restore Green Gables and save history, but time is of the essence. Please visit our website at http://www.greengables.org and watch our 34 minute documentary entitled “Forgotten Enchantress”.
You, too, will be enchanted and understand why we are trying to raise funds for restoring this architectural beauty.

CPR First Aid, Babysitting Certification

Is your Babysitter CPR & First Aid Certified?

Top 10 reasons our Babysitting Certification course is important:

  1. Your child chokes on a grape. Do you know how to dislodge it?

  2. You are at a friends with a pool, a child is missing. Where do you look first?

  3. Your sibling grabs scissors and gets a bad cut. What would you do?

  4. You are at the park and a child in your care falls off the top of the monkey bars. Do you know how to help?

  5. You are supervising children getting ready for bed. One insists on taking a bath alone. How do you respond?

  6. You are watching multiple children, 3 of them are screaming and one is passed out. What do you do first?

  7. You are watching extra kids, one is having a hard time breathing and has blue lips. Do you know if that child has allergies? Do you know what to do first?

  8. Your parents friend wants to interview you for a babysitting job, are you prepared?

  9. The parents of the children in your care do not want any screens to be watched. Do you know fun games and activities to play with them?

  10. Your Parent chokes on a piece of steak, what do you do to help?
