Green Gables Open House

Green Gables Open House: Green Gables is hosting Open House on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. CDC guidelines will be in place. Masks required.

Even though Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village, Inc. has submitted to be considered for a Florida matching grant to own the home, we must continue to work toward repairing, stabilizing, and then restoring this historical Queen Anne style treasure for the South Brevard area. Green Gables is one of only three Queen Anne style homes in South Brevard, so preserving this architecture and restoring the home as well as the Wells family legacy is important. William and Nora Wells played a key role in the development of early Melbourne. Their vision and generosity gifted the area with Wells Park and the first auditorium, assistance with building and establishing the first library, organizing and funding the first high school classes, to name a few, all of which have been enjoyed by several generations.

TURTLE KRAWL 5K VIRTUAL RACE

The 2020 Turtle Krawl 5K virtual event Sept. 12-15 offers participants the chance to come together to support sea turtle conservation while staying apart. Registration is now open for the Sea Turtle Preservation Society’s annual fundraiser. Once registered online, participants will complete the event individually between Sept. 12-15, 2020. All race proceeds benefit the Sea Turtle Preservation Society’s mission to help sea turtles survive.  Registration for the 2020 Turtle Krawl includes a race shirt with artwork by Nemo, and participants may choose to add a special 2020 finisher medal to their registration. The Turtle Krawl adoptions and donations program provides an opportunity to support local sea turtle conservation for those who do not wish to register for the race.
