Specifically, PACE provides flexibility in degree completion at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Learners can self-pace their degree pursuits – classes are offered once per week for 8 weeks, and they can determine if full time (2 courses every 8 weeks) or part-time (1 course every 8 weeks) works best for them. PACE operates sites throughout the state of Florida; learners may also conveniently access degrees and individual courses online as well as in class. Noncredit, professional development programs are also available.
Barry University specifically built a military learning support network because we know that you and your family face unique challenges. You need a high caliber of education at a university that is committed to your success. PACE’s professional advisors understand the needs of the military and are available to assist you with Tuition Assistance (TA) programs, the Yellow Ribbon Program, GI Bill, and other veteran benefits. The School of Professional And Career Education is also considered a SOC approved school, which provides the following benefits:
The School of Professional And Career Education (PACE) is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity College (SOC) Consortium. We provide flexible policies that allow service members and their families to complete degrees rather than just accumulate course credit. We also provide certifying officials throughout the state of Florida to assist you.
Members of SOC are committed to following SOC principles which include the following:
- Reasonable Transfer of Credit: avoid excessive loss of previously earned credit and avoid course work duplication
- Credit for Military Training and Experience: recognize and use the ACE Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services in evaluating and awarding academic credit for military training and experience
- Credit for Nationally Recognized Testing Programs: credit for testing programs such as College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and General and Subject Exams (DANTES)
