Through these practical, interactive, and fun classes, you will learn to speak and read Spanish. This will allow you to be competitive in the labor market and also allow you to participate in an amazing cultural experience. With more than 50 million Hispanics living in the United States, learning Spanish can be extremely beneficial for anyone looking to expand their careers or simply enrich their personal lives to interact with a growing demographic.

This class will meet on Tuesdays and will meet for 2 hours from 5:30-7:30pm once a week for 6 weeks. The book for the class can be purchased online for an additional $21.

Class will meet on April 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7 and 14.

Digital Photography-Palm Bay-$50-6 Weeks

Learn the art of photography with photography teacher Carrie Robertson. Miss Robertson has been a teacher at Bayside High School for many years. She teaches photography as well as Adobe Suite to her students. Photography is a fun hobby for her and she is excited to share this hobby with you!

Microsoft Excel-Beginning-6 Week Class - Palm Bay

The Microsoft Office Excel beginning course is an introduction to Excel. The class will equip students to become proficient and increase their skills in Microsoft Office Excel for the workplace and personal use. Students may choose to prepare to earn their Microsoft Office Specialist certification by passing the MOS Excel exam after taking this course. There is an additional $50 fee to take the MOS Excel exam.
Class meets on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm each week for 6 weeks. Class meets on the following dates: April 11, 18, 25 and May 2, 9, and 16.

Payment through Eventbrite is prefered but we will also accept money orders and checks in the Brevard Adult Ed-Palm Bay front office. Students should register at least 24 hours before the class begins.

Finding Grant Funding for Nonprofits



Is your nonprofit looking for more sources of grant funding? 

Learn about the grant-making process and where to find grant opportunities, including foundations, corporations, federal funding partners, and websites. You will also learn about grant cycles, query letters, funder networking, and be introduced to sites that present multiple grant opportunities.

Leading the seminar is Terri Chastain, a fundraising and training consultant at the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership at Rollins College in Winter Park.

This workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 25 at the Space Coast Health Foundation Center for Collaboration, 1100 Rockledge Blvd., Rockledge, Florida. The venue has plenty of free parking, including electric car charging stations.

Coastal Garden Fair & Earth Day Celebration

CITY OF SATELLITE BEACH HOSTS THE COASTAL GARDEN FAIR & 
EARTH DAY CELEBRATION ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019
 

The Satellite Beach Beautification Board and the Satellite Beach Sustainability Board have partnered to create the Coastal Garden Fair and Earth Day Celebration, an event for the community. This event is will take place on Saturday April 27th from 9:00am to 2:00pm and is free to the public. The event location is at the David R. Schechter Community Center, 1089 South Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach, FL 32937.  This event will have dozens of vendors such as food trucks, artists, plant vendors, educational nonprofits, and more, including an inside area for kids to play and learn about the environment. Speakers will be presenting about topics related to Earth Day and Coastal plants and gardening. Come out and enjoy this family-friendly event designed to educate and inspire everyone to grow your connection to the environment. Junior League of South Brevard, Inc. Girl POWER Symposium

The Junior League of South Brevard, Inc. (JLSB) invites young women ages 14-18 years old in Brevard County to attend a FREE workshop intended to provide the necessary life skills needed to build and maintain a healthy lifestyle, both mind and body.  The long-term impact in the community will be to build upon the programs, focusing on more involved workshops for “graduates” of the fundamental program, thereby following them as the young women progress in maturity and in life, giving the young women a chance to excel and empower themselves as they enter adulthood.

The April event will provide the girls information and skills on mental health and wellbeing, specifically coping with stress & anxiety, self-harm, self-esteem, and goal setting. There will also be a parent/guardian session in the afternoon to inform parents of some of the struggles girls face at their age.

The Junior League of South Brevard is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively education and charitable. 

The Junior League of South Brevard Inc. is a member of The Association of Junior Leagues International, an organization of transformational female leaders who set bold goals, open their circles, disrupt convention and change the conversation for the betterment of civil society.
