Our Vision: EGAD wants to evolve into a walkable historic neighborhood that serves as the epicenter of arts and entertainment, from casual dining and specialty boutiques to live music and craft beers, to community events that celebrate the ever-creative spirit of the Space Coast. You could spend a full day, starting with a run over the causeway and down shady Pineapple Avenue, have breakfast and stroll the Green Market, hit the library or the art museum, get your hair done, express yourself in a dance or painting class, lunch on the waterfront, pick up that tool for home improvement, shop a little, buy flowers, reminisce in the antique shops, spark a fresh idea for your own business while perusing the art galleries, meet friends for dinner and wine, or enjoy an improv show. If you’re lucky enough, you can walk home, too.
Eau Gallie Arts District (EGAD) Main Street is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting revitalization of the historic Eau Gallie area of Melbourne. The district includes the Foosaner Art Museum, the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, historic Rossetter House Museum and Gardens, Eau Gallie Public Library with a fishing pier, Eau Gallie Civic Center, two public parks, one with a playground a covered gazebo, the Eau Gallie Rotary Club band shell with wifi, churches, art galleries, shops, restaurants, professional offices, Victoria Landing Assisted Living and a quaint bed and breakfast in an historical Victorian home. The City of Melbourne has re-zoned a residential area within EGAD, referred to as the Art Overlay zone, so artists may establish studios within their homes, establishing an enclave for working artists.
