Brevard Rescue Mission Statement
Brevard Rescue Mission works to permanently break the cycle of homelessness by providing homeless women with children housing, access to health care, transportation, education, nutrition, job training and life skills in a safe, Christ-centered residential setting. The 12-24 month program is designed to lovingly transform families from dependency to self-sufficiency through daily accountability, personal responsibility and goal advancement.
There are four phases of our program that transforms families into self-sufficiency.
Phase 1: STABILIZE: Assess the situation and bring the woman and her children out of crisis mode and secure their immediate needs of housing, healthcare, and basic necessities.
Phase 2: STRATEGIZE: Each woman and her case manager are now prepared to create a plan. This plan may include preparing for the G.E.D., learning a new skill or vocation, or seeking employment with already obtained skills. Meanwhile, we work with the children through our Kids’ Club, which provides a safe environment for learning, playing and character education.
Phase 3: STRENGTHEN: Once a plan has been established, Brevard Rescue Mission walks beside the woman as she studies and learns new life skills. We provide ongoing counseling, financial literacy courses, nutrition classes, bible study, CPR courses, and many more support classes that pertain to independent living. Furthermore, we have onsite tutoring for the adults and children.
Phase 4: SEND-FORTH: The resident's plan has been completed and a stable income and savings have been established and secured. With the assistance and guidance of the case manager, the resident is ready to find permanent housing off campus that her current job will support.
Once those phases have been completed, the families leave the Casa Carol apartments at Brevard rescue Mission with a new sense of hope and confidence of a future they never dreamed of happening.
